POOL RULES

The term “Pool Area” as used in the following regulations includes the sprinkler pool, the sundecks and the deck surrounding the pools.

Lifeguards shall have full authority to require any person to leave the pool area whose conduct may be considered detrimental to the safety of anyone and/or the enjoyment of others.

Lifeguards shall have full authority to suspend the pool privileges of any member or guest under the age of eighteen who violates the pool regulations.  The Pool Committee shall have full authority to suspend privileges for adults who violate these regulations.  This period of suspension shall not exceed seven days. Repeated or continued violations constitute cause for suspension up to thirty days or cancellation of membership by the Board of Governors.

  1. No person may enter the pool unless a lifeguard is on duty.  Violators will be reported for appropriate action by the Board of Governors.

  2. When considered necessary, the lifeguards may limit the number of persons using the pool.

  3. All persons swimming in deep water must be able to pass a swim test, which will be given at the lifeguards’ discretion.

  4. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.  Children 8 to 12 years of age must have a designated guardian on the Racquet Club premises.

  5. Members/guests must wear shoes and a cover-up when outside the pool area.

  6. The pool may be closed at any time for weather, health, maintenance or any other safety reason deemed sufficient by the Pool Committee or lifeguard staff.

  7. Diving is prohibited.  Jumping into 3 feet depth is also prohibited.

  8. Ball throwing, water guns, running, pushing, wrestling and general unsafe horseplay is prohibited.

  9. Excessive noise and abusive or foul language is prohibited.

  10. Smoking is prohibited in the pool area.

  11. Any person with a cold, cough, skin disease or other communicable condition is prohibited in the pool.

  12. Glass (including containers of lotions, creams, etc.) is prohibited in the pool area.

  13. Playpens, strollers and carriages are only permitted in the sprinkler pool area.

  14. Swimming accessories are prohibited except during special swimming instruction or by approval of the lifeguard staff.

  15. No food (including gum) is allowed, except on the sun deck.

  16. Adults have priority in the use of chairs and the sun deck.

  17. Dressing and undressing in the pool area, including diaper changing is prohibited.

  18. Infants must wear approved pool diaper wear.  Regular diapers are prohibited.

  19. Guard station and pump room are off-limits, as well as the bowling area.

  20. All pool parties can only be held by a club member with a club member as the “guest of honor”.
